Crafting with Pressed Flowers with Guest Artist Bri Rossi
I spied Bri’s Little Leaf Ink display at the Portland Bazaar and beelined over to meet her. When I discovered that she teaches her lovely craft, I invited her to teach at The Fallow Field. Oh happy dance—she said yes!
From Bri: Come learn how to select and press flowers from Amy’s gardens, and make crafts from my pre-pressed flower collection. I supply handmade flower presses, papers, cards, jars, and bookmarks to create to your heart’s content! I will share tips and tricks, and you’ll take home beautiful botanical creations to keep or gift as well as your own flower-filled press to use at home.

Mother’s Day Family Collage (choose one 3-hr session)
Treat Mom to the Mother’s Day of her dreams: a Family Core Value Collage workshop with her favorite family. During this relaxing 3-hour class, Amy will guide parents and kids-of-all-ages in the brainstorming of words and imagery that conveys what makes your family special, and instruct on painting and collaging simple representational images onto a keepsake board or canvas. Capture this precious moment-in-time and bring home a heartwarming treasure.
Age: 4 years and above

Art Journaling in Collaboration with Shelter Writers - 2 Days
I have been an admirer of Alli Rogers Dahlgren’s music and words for many years, and the kinship was strong when we met. Our respective visions for using craft for personal expression and growth naturally align—Alli’s for the written word and mine for the visual arts. Join us over a spring weekend as we bring together our mediums to create hand painted, handwritten art journals.

Gel Plate Cardmaking
Anyone flabbergasted by the cost of store bought greeting cards these days? Enough of that robbery! Come learn a new art form and make delightful cards for any occasion. I’ll be creating alongside the class and giving demos on how to use the gel plate (easy, relaxing, and fun!)—plus offering design tips during this 3-hour workshop. No more meh cards; we are taking matters into our own literal hands! All supplies and envelopes included.

Collage Pet Portraits with Guest Artist Jordan Kim
Jordan and I have been teaching artists for the same nonprofit for years. Her animal collages are magnificent—a true reflection of the soulful, uplifting person she is. And she is going to teach us how it’s done! Come capture your affection for your beloved pet, a past one, or that of a friend.
From Jordan: Attendees will gain experience with paper collage, creating a value gradient, and mixed media techniques. Emphasis will be on fun, creative play, and a supportive environment. No experience necessary! All supplies included.
